Materials Used

It stands for recycled polyethylene terephthalate or recycled PET. PET is a strong durable material that is used to create plastic bottles, soda cans, food jars, etc. rPET is produced by collecting, sorting and recycling PET, then refining them into flakes. Once recycled, the material can then be made into other products such as blankets, car parts, shoes, and clothing.  rPET is the sustainable alternative to PVC.

PVC stands for polyvinyl chloride which is a synthetic material commonly used for various different functions such as clothing, toys, bedding, packaging, bedding, etc. The versatility of the product is what makes it so common but it is extremely harmful to the environment. While the material is strong and durable, it means that it is also tough to break down making it next to impossible to biodegrade. Also, PVC contains chemicals harmful to humans and animals that lead to a whole host of medical issues. The life cycle of PVC has a great negative impact on humans and the overall safety of the environment while rPET has none of these issues and can be reused.

It takes 8 plastic bottles taken from the ocean which then are shredded into small plastic flakes where it is melted into these little plastic pellets. From there we put the pellets through a “spinnerate” that heats and stretches them into very fine string-like fiber which is extruded into yarn then woven into clothing that arrive right at your doorstep!

Yes, the packaging is 100% recyclable and sustainable made from 50% consumer waste so you don’t have to worry about polluting the earth with our packaging!

Sustainable cotton is cotton made by employing ethical practices in the harvesting of the material. Traditionally, when harvesting cotton little attention is paid to the treatment of the workers along with excessive use of water which destroys habitats and leaves the inhabitants with less water. Sustainable cotton eliminates this by being more conscious of how the cotton is being made.
