Job / Trade Questions
What trades field are you currently in, and what do you do?
Currently I am in a program for a metal fabricator. As of now, I am being taught the basics. However, previously I was performing GMAW and GTAW on stainless steel, mild steel and aluminum.
When did you realize you wanted to be in the trades?
I realized I wanted to go into the trades when I felt accomplished creating something from scratch, and always wanted to be doing something.
Women Empowerment / Advice
Do you have any advice for other women who may be thinking of getting an education or career in trades?
Get an education/career in the trades. The only person it is benefiting is you and your future. So do it for yourself.
If you could give one piece of advice to women who are just starting out in the trades, what would it be?
Just do it. It’s not a scary place. In all honesty, the men in the trades are there to support you, teach you and protect you. Of course, you will have the dicks, but so does every other placement and job in the world. Do your job and do it well. Ask the questions. Make jokes. Have a good time. Be you.

Brand Specific
What has it been like to be a part of The Dirty Seahorse’s community?
Being a part of The Dirty Seahorse community has been great. The team is so kind, understanding and passionate about wanting to create change and allow women in trades to have the same opportunity and comfortability as men. This brand has given me the support and recognition to become who I want to be.
What Dirty Seahorse product would you recommend?
I would recommend their overalls, crewneck and t-shirts. The overalls are super comfortable and allow for tons of flexibility. My favourite thing about them is how many pockets they have! Not only are the overalls great for the trades, but they are great for the barn use. And they are comfortable and durable enough to ride in them. The crewneck and the t-shirt are super comfortable and great material. The blue t-shirt is so comfy and the material is amazing. I love how it is fitted.
What Dirty Seahorse product would you like to try out in the future?
A Dirty Seahorse product I would like to try in the future is work pants, possibly welding caps/beanies, and sports bra. As a petite woman, it is hard finding work pants that fit properly, caps/beanies are always way too big for me, and I have a hard time finding bras that fit nicely.
